Goodbye Copenhagen, hello Nepal

Leaving Copenhagen was tough. It is a beautiful country with equally beautiful people. They are so kind, happy and out going. The woman are exceptional! Tall (5’ 9” on average) nice legs, fair smooth skin complexion, blue eyes, blonds and brunettes… absolutely magnificent. I will be back, oh yes, I will be back :)

But even still, I was excited to leave, as the next leg of my travels had me headed to Nepal, to work with one of my clients: Sherpa Adventure Gear (SAG). SAG is as true to their brand as any brand I’ve ever worked with. It’s not a marketing gimmick, it’s who they are. It’s a family owned business with Tashi Sherpa (CEO & Dad), Tsedo Sherpa (President & Daughter), Tsering Sherpa (Son, in charge of production and who I’d be kicking it with all week, poor guy I know ;) ), Pam Sherpa (has worked in product development and who is moving into Marketing. Their last name is Sherpa for crying out loud, these people are the real thing. The purpose of my visit is to learn more about the company and it’s culture, so that in turn, I can better market their business online. The travel plans kind of got thrown together last minute so I literally have know idea what to expect when I got there. All I knew is someone would be there to pick me up, holding a sign with my name on it. I flew out of Copenhagen at 11:30am which was a bit crazy as I had to return my bicycle (if you visit Copenhagen I highly recommend renting a bicycle). But I made my flight, and after an extremely long week I got on the plane, passed out and woke up in Istanbul, Turkey… In hind sight it was a nice transition to the world I was about to enter. I had a 6 hour layover so we were bussed off the plane, there were vehicles everywhere, going this way and that way, in-between planes… I thought we were going to hit a plane or get hit by one. But my prayers were answered and we made it to the terminal where for the most part I was greeted with all the typical western amenities: great healthy food, wifi and a good cup of joe (what else could a guy ask for). There was quite the stir in the airport as some Russian looking dude laid hands on some mom in a struggle for one of the few open seats. He was quickly apprehended and nearly beat by some of the men standing bye, I was quickly realizing I wasn’t in Kansas anymore.

Finally it was time to board the massive air bus and take the roughly 8 hour overnight flight to Kathmandu Nepal… which of course I couldn’t sleep on… so I watched Jack Ryan, Lego & started grudge match… but to be honest, I don’t remember much of the movies as my mind was anxiously awaiting and wondering what I had in store in Kathmandu.
